Nymiria and Ghost look…

Nymiria and Ghost look like healthy, normal puppies playing. But sadly, that's not the case. They're both very sick. :( Their little bellies are so very distended, despite the fact that nothing has come up on their fecal exams, despite the fact that they've received all kinds of medications to combat parasites. Nymiria is especially concerning. Her belly ballooned in a matter of hours and we were nervous. She strained and strained and strained and couldn't poop, despite the fact that all she seems to have coming out is diarrhea. She strained so hard, her anus prolapsed. X-rays have been done and the vet is afraid she might have a bit of an obstruction. But she's so, so, so tiny, the question arises of whether she would even survive a surgery to remove it. For now, we're working to try to get whatever it is out to see if we might be able to avoid the surgery altogether. She has made improvements. Her little anus is behaving now, she's able to poop with less straining, things are hopefully (cross your paws!!) looking up. Why is she having this terrible trouble? We suspect she and Ghost were eating whatever they could find before they were picked up. Puppies get hungry and don't know any better and they will eat whatever trash they find lying around. (Both pups were being closely supervised by their foster while playing with this plastic bag) This is just one reason of many that tiny puppies should be kept in a crate while you're not home to prevent them from getting into and eating things they shouldn't be. And certainly, puppies should never be dumped. 😡 - - #dogsofinstagram#dogoftheday#puppylove#adoptdontshop#rescuedog#itsallgoodep#suncity#elpaso#elpasotexas#muttsofinstagram#rescue#mutt#instadog#instagramdogs#ilovemydog#puppiesofinstagram#dogsofig#doglover#love#fureverhome#rescuedismyfavoritebreed#rescuemutt#dogslife#doggo#MuttLoveDogRescue#fosterssavelives
