We don’t know if…

We don't know if York had a family who was looking for him. We don't know how long he had been out on the streets, or what kind of life he had before last night. All we know is that he deserved better. York was more than likely hit by a car last night. His pelvis was broken in six different places. He had fluid in his abdomen, a pneumothorax, possibly a ruptured bladder. He was in excruciating pain. Terrified. To even attempt to fix him would have required an 8-hour surgery and CT scans and the chances of him surviving were low. And that's just to start. Despite anything we tried, he likely would have been in pain and paralyzed for the rest of his little life. We couldn't bring ourselves to make him suffer more. He had never met us before last night. We were nobodies to him. But we held him and cried with him as we sent him across the Rainbow Bridge and we hope that he felt loved and comforted in his final moments. Please help us share him. Maybe he has a family somewhere out there looking desperately for him. And if that's the case, they deserve to have that closure and he deserves to go home to them. ❤️
